Local people. Local journeys. Shared ambition.
A CITY WE WANT TO MOVE WITH
The station run. The shift home. A visit to the seafront. We want Via to make local journeys simpler, while giving private hire drivers a fair, clear platform to work through.
Our planned launch starts in Brighton & Hove, working through a licensed private hire operator. We’re designing for the wider BN postcode area as driver coverage grows — coverage will depend on available approved drivers.

Enter a pickup and destination, choose a vehicle and see the journey price before requesting a ride. We’re testing live address search and location-based pickups.
Standard, Premium, XL, 7-seater and wheelchair-accessible options are part of our plans. Wheelchair-accessible rides will have no vehicle-category surcharge over Standard.
Our accessibility plans →We’re developing driver details, in-app messages, vehicle matching and journey sharing, so you have useful information before and during a trip.
FOR PRIVATE HIRE DRIVERS
We want to help licensed local drivers reach passengers, manage trips and understand what they earn — without a monthly platform fee.
Explore driver registration demo ↗Demo registration only. No real driver onboarding or bookings yet.
No monthly driver fee. Under our planned model, the remaining 83% of the fare goes to the driver and Via covers payment processing fees.
BUILDING TRUST BEFORE LAUNCH
Drivers and vehicles will need the appropriate licences, identity and right-to-work evidence, insurance and compliance checks before approval. Real verification providers and operator arrangements still need to be connected and confirmed.
Our demo includes safety tools such as vehicle matching and journey sharing. Security messaging is currently unmonitored; it does not dispatch security or automatically alert police.
We’re preparing the platform now so we can test thoughtfully before offering a real service.
